you make me want to wear polkadots
Sarah Jessica Parker, as my possible one true soulmate Carrie Bradshaw, makes me want to wear everything she ever wore ever.
But, in this case -
That dress is nice.
But I must disagree about her general clothing. I wasn't a regular watcher of that programme, but whenever I turned on she seemed to be wearing something monumentally hideous. Best one was when she was supposedly at a wedding, and appeared to be wearing an inflateable ball, gathered at the neck and the knees, and billowing out in between.
Yeah. I'm aware that the programme, the character, her style, even The Mighty Mighty SJP herself is susceptible to the love/hate/I-don't-quite-understand-what-all-the-fuss-is-about thing. Personally, I love her and I find direct fault with very little that I've ever seen her wear. She has fun with fashion - often wearing things that aren't exactly flattering or even technically pretty, but that she likes or uses in order to reference someone or something else she admires - and she's genuinely passionate about expressing herself through what she wears. She has character and she, with the help of Patricia Field, has created an fashion icon (good or bad) in Carrie Bradshaw. In particular, the clothes she wore in the final two episodes of the programme, which this photo is taken from, were pristine and classic but with a quirky twist. Her style reflects her general unconventional looks and an aversion to being sucked into the great trundling Hollywood tradition of cookie-cutter starlets.
Meh. I've had this conversation many times over with The Wifecicle, and others, and I'm not trying to twist anyone's arm. I Just Adore Her. And she mmwtwpd :)
Fair enough then.
I find it hard to get past the beach ball dress.
I wish I could find a photo of it...
I have a skirt a lot like that:) xx
